Writing unit 9: Piece of art

The Scream was painted by Edvard Munch in 1893. It is an oil painting and it shows a landscape. In the painting there is a man screaming, who’s under a bridge. In the top of the image there are mountains, in the center a river and a lake, and in the bottom there are the man and the bridge. The man is shouting of anxiety, and he have the hands in the face.

This type of work is typical of the expressionism style. The expressionism is a cultural movement started in Germany in the XX century. The expressionism is not a copy of the reality, is a way to express the reality. The expressionism use lots of colors, especially the black.

The Scream is exhibited in The National Gallery of Norway, in Oslo.

Writing unit 8: Write about a book

The Reunion

The last book I read was The Reunion, the author is Fred Hulman, a Jewish who lived in Germany (1901-1985)

The book is a biography of the author when he was young. He was a Jewish boy called Hans and he was shy and he didn’t have friends. One day came to the school a new boy. The new boy was called Konradin and he became Han’s friend. But there was a problem, Hans was jewish and Konradin was nazi. I don’t explain more because If I continue, you’ll know how the book end.

I didn’t like the book because it’s boring in my opinion. The book had 120 pages and 100 are a description of the families, the school and I didn’t enjoy it.

All in all I only recommend this book to the people who like read descriptions and biographies.

I represent a group called “O.A.N.M (organization against new motorways)”. I am writing you because we know you are going to build a motorway.

In our opinion, motorways are one of the bests thinks to pollute the world, and this is very bad. You’ll buy with our money and you must ask to the people if we need and if we like. Of course we don’t need! You are crazy! In Sant Miquel there aren’t pass more than 100 cars per day. Sant Miquel don’t have more than 250 people and people don’t come work in Sant Miquel. So definitely we don’t need.

If you’ll build it we will boycott it because it’s a bad Idea. We will camp on the land, destroy the machines…  We’ll found sponsors to help us to protect the world.

Writing unit 4

In my opinion internet can be addictive, I have a friend who doesn’t come one week because he was playing computer games. And this week there was one exam for day! We said to him but they continue playing all the week. He says I was ill but all know he was playing games. He need visit psychologist! You can play computer games because it’s funny and you can like it but you can’t lose one week of school for play games.

I think use internet it’s very positive but you can’t stay all the time on it.

Writing unit 3

I’m writing because In my small town there aren’t many cars and there isn’t much pollution. It’s in the nature and in the photo there aren’t any cars.

I think there are two or three reasons. There aren’t much people in my town, between two thousand and fifty. The road is very small and there is only one. The cars can’t go very fast and people doesn’t like. Also there are many curves. The most of the people are farmers and they don’t pollute.

We don’t need do something because we don’t have pollute.

The highlight of this week was Tu Si que Vales (TSQV) . TSQV is a talent show, the participants go and do what they do best, for example sing, in dancing… In the last episode, there was a man with his parrot, and the parrot repeated what the man said, it was really funny!

In channel 5 (Telecinco) there was a program for intelligent people, Passapalabra Is a Quiz show in Spain, the participants must to the maximum score in teams and they win seconds for the last test. In the last test the presenter say definitions to the participants and they must know all, there is one for each letter of the alphabet.

The last program I saw was The Simpsons, I love this cartoon, it’s very funny. In the chapter I saw the protagonist, Homer go to Las Vegas with his friend Flanders and they win a lot of money but they lost ti in the bus, It was really funny!

Writing: A film you enjoy

The last film I saw and I enjoied was Elysium. Elysium is a futuristic film, Elysium is a city in the sky for the rich people. In Elysium there aren’t diseases, there is fresh air, and all is new and technologic.It’s the perfect city. But in the earth there are a lot of poor people, the earth is contaminated and destroyed.

One boy gets a machine in his body to go to Elysium to get information and then the poor people can go to Elysium. This machine makes you stronger, clever and better.

At the end, the boy can go to Elysium, he fights against machines and other people and at the end he gets the information and the poor people can go to Elysium.
